Why there has never been a better time to dip your toes into the world of cruising.....
There is an incredibly exciting selection of luxury resorts poised to arrive off the coast of the UK this Summer and here is why this is a fantastic opportunity for you. Even if you have never previously considered a cruise or you are a seasoned cruiser, the indisputable fact is, there may never be another time like this to experience everything a cruise has to offer, in UK waters!
Here are a few of the many reasons why you should not let this moment sail on by.
1: It couldn't be easier
There will be a plethora of choices to enable you to test drive a cruise in a way that suits you the best. For example, you could choose a little taster short break, a 3 or 4 night get away with family or friends. However, just be prepared for that moment when you wish you had booked at least 7 nights! Another big positive this year is that you won’t need to fly. Some of the most amazing cruise ships in the world will be setting sail from Southampton and other ports around the country. Take advantage while it lasts!
2: It will be safe
You can rest assured that the cruise lines have used this time to get their Covid Protocols in ship shape and they know what they need to do to keep their guests safe whilst still giving them an amazing experience. And of course it is a controlled environment, meaning that once everyone is tested and onboard, nobody can wander in from outside. Yes there may be face masks required in certain areas and social distancing and mandatory negative PCR tests before boarding, however, lets be honest, we are all used to that by now and the huge upside of this is that ships will be operating all their services at 100% but with fewer passengers. This means that there will probably be at most a maximum of 80% occupancy and often much less. Again, I can only urge you to profit from this once in a lifetime chance!
3: A cruise is great value - and more so now than ever
Cruises are sometimes thought of as an expensive option but when you add up everything that is included, your accommodation, daytime and evening entertainment, meals, snacks, drinks, children’s activities and childcare etc etc it can be very cost effective and you know exactly what your holiday will cost before you go. Also, Cruise lines want nothing more than to get their passengers back onboard and to see them smiling again and having the time of their lives. They will understandably want to tempt you onto their particular ships so expect to see fabulous extras such as premium drinks and gratuities included in all packages, something that MSC are offering on their magnificent, brand new flagship Virtuosa, that will be spending it’s entire maiden Summer in UK. If ever there was a reason to get yourself onboard cruising… this ship just might be it!
3: Cruise Chips are Family Friendly and your children will certainly not be bored!
Todays ships are designed to keep everyone happy and occupied. So this could be the perfect holiday to have with your extended family after all this time. Imagine cabin space for yourself, communal spaces to all come together and an endless list of activities to suit any taste. Relax in the spa while your other family members (or friends) watch a live performance, attend a lecture, take a dance, cookery, yoga, painting or bridge class! Play basketball, visit the casino, climb a Rock wall, spend hours at the water park, chill by the pool, partake in some retail therapy or go bowling! These are seriously just a few of the options available on many of today's ships.
5: Flexibility
Cruise lines are so keen to get travellers back that they are offering very flexible booking policies and assurances. They historically throughout the enforced lockdown have offered hugely beneficial incentives to clients to re book instead of cancelling their holidays. You can therefore book with confidence that you will be able to change or cancel your holiday if necessary.
For maximum reassurance, ease and a stress free way of booking, don’t forget to always use a travel professional, such as your own personal travel consultant.
